Athena Strings was formed in 2006 at the Athena Awards at the Parthenon in Centennial Park. We focus on promoting female musicians. All members hold Bachelors of Music degrees from institutions such as Loyola University New Orleans, Blair School of Music, De Pauw University and University of Michigan. Each member also has their Masters of Music degree from institutions like Belmont University, Northwestern, and University of Michigan. Members of Athena Strings are players in the Huntsville Symphony, Nashville Symphony, Orchestra Kentucky, Jackson Symphony, Bowling Green Western Symphony, Bryan Symphony Orchestra, The Black Mozart Ensemble, and the Transiberian Orchestra and do regular studio sessions and commercial work in the Nashville area. Athena Strings also has teachers at Donelson Christian Music Academy, Belmont Academy, First Baptist Hendersonville School of Fine Arts, Lipscomb Academy and the Linden Corner School of Music.
